PHILADELPHIA − After making three trades Friday night, the Eagles drafted edge rusher Jalyx Hunt from Houston Christian at No. 94.

Hunt, at 6-foot-4, 252 pounds, ran a 4.64 in the 40. But Hunt, who began his collegiate career a Cornell as a safety, played far from the spotlight. He had 6.5 sacks last season and is considered a prospect. He'll get that chance on the Eagles defensive line behind Bryce Huff, Josh Sweat, Brandon Graham and Nolan Smith.

The trading began early Friday.

First, the Eagles traded up in the second round to pick DB Cooper DeJean at No. 40. The Eagles sent Washington their two second-round picks − at No. 50 and No. 53 − and a fifth-rounder at No. 161 in return for the third-round pick and a fifth-rounder (No. 152).

Feb 29, 2024; Indianapolis, IN, USA; Houston Christian defensive lineman Jalyx Hunt (DL34) works out during the 2024 NFL Combine at Lucas Oil Stadium.

The Eagles then moved back from No. 78 in a deal with the Texans. That gave the Eagles the pick at No. 86 and a fourth-round pick, at No. 123.

The Eagles moved back one more time, trading back from No. 86 to No. 94 in a deal with the 49ers. The Eagles got another fourth-round pick, at No. 132.

So the Eagles will have three fourth-round picks (No. 120, 123 and 132), three fifth-round picks (No. 152, No. 171 and No. 172) and a sixth-rounder (No. 210) on Saturday.

The Eagles took Toledo cornerback Quinyon Mitchell with their first-round pick, No. 22 overall, on Thursday night before taking DeJean in the second round.
