After surviving for a week, a man stuck by a hit-and-run motorist in Ogletown has died

A 53-year-old man, who was struck by a vehicle that left the scene last week in Ogletown, has died, Delaware State Police said.

The Newark-area man, who has not been identified, was crossing the crosswalk on Kingston Road at East Chestnut Hill Road when an unknown vehicle struck him. Police said the vehicle was westbound on East Chestnut Hill Road when the driver made a right turn onto northbound Kingston Road and hit the man.

The striking vehicle fled in an unknown direction.

The man was taken to an area hospital. He died on Tuesday from injuries sustained in the crash, police said.

The make and model of the striking vehicle are unknown.

Police continue to investigate this incident, and troopers ask that anyone who witnessed the crash to contact investigators at (302) 365-8483. Information may also be provided by sending a private Facebook message to the Delaware State Police or contacting Delaware Crime Stoppers at (800) 847-3333.
