A 28-year-old man from Seaford died early Friday morning in Harbeson after being hit by two cars, both of which left the scene, according to Delaware State Police.

The man's name has not yet been released.

Police said a silver car heading north on Harbeson Road north of Route 9 hit the 28-year-old, who was walking in the northbound lane of Harbeson Road, at 2:18 a.m. The car drove off and, "a short time later," a smaller white SUV also heading north on Harbeson Road struck the man again. Both vehicles left the scene.

The Seaford man was taken to the hospital, where he later died. Police are still investigating why he was walking in the road.

Police said that, as of Friday evening, surveillance videos and photos of the two cars are not available. Officers are asking anyone who witnessed the crash to call Master Cpl. K. Argo at 302-703-3264 or contact Delaware Crime Stoppers at 800-847-3333.
