Meet Delaware's Most Influential People for 2024

We've lived with COVID-19 for nearly four years now. And even though we are no longer technically in a public health crisis, the pandemic continues to shape how we live, work, play, spend money and even vote.

For the fourth year in a row, we are pausing to take notice of the people in our state who work, both in the limelight and behind the scenes, to influence this place we call home. These are the folks who continue to shape Delaware's future.

Since 2020, Delaware Online/The News Journal has sought to highlight those who have a big impact in the First State — from leaders in health care, law and business, as well as movers and shakers in the arenas of dining, entertainment, social media and more.

This year, we are introducing an education category.

The people we chose to highlight are staring down the opioid crisis. Working toward better quality of life for unhoused neighbors. Filling crucial gaps left by the nationwide teacher shortage. And influencing others in Delaware and well beyond on TikTok, Instagram and other platforms.

They are among the Most Influential People in Delaware in 2024.

From sports to health care to grassroots community leaders, we offer our look at the residents of the First State who are making a difference in the way we live our lives.

We will also introduce you to our Delaware Influencers Hall of Fame, to which we've inducted new members, all highly influential people who continue to make an impact on our lives.

It's a given that you won't agree with all of our selections. That's to be expected. This group is more about who had an impact on our lives rather than popularity contest.

These lists are in no way comprehensive. But they’re important, as a means of recognizing those working hard throughout our state, or whose actions alter a significant aspect about it, and as a reminder of who to watch throughout 2024 and in years to come.
