A 29-year-old man from Ellendale died Tuesday night after losing control of his car near Felton and flipping several times, Delaware State Police said.

Troopers were called to Canterbury Road, south of Roesville Road, at about 11 p.m. for reports of the crash. On scene, they determined the man, who has not yet been publicly identified, was unable to negotiate a curve on Canterbury Road.

He lost control of his Honda Accord, crossing over the opposite lane and shoulder and continuing through a "grassy embankment" and over several driveways.

The man then tried to steer back toward Canterbury Road, but his car flipped, rolling several times before stopping on the road upside down. The man died at the scene.

Police closed Canterbury Road for about four hours while they investigated. The man's name will be released once next-of-kin are notified.
